  • Bad night for the rookie

[Disclaimer: I grew up a Mets fan in a family of Yankee fans. Adopted the Red Sox after I moved to the Boston area in 1989 – hey, the Mets had won a Series, might as well pull for the other guys. This has caused all sorts of grief from the aforementioned Yankee fans.]

Not one of the call-ups, but Dice-K. Someone must have the stat counting how many games he’s had a one-inning meltdown. Tonight’s was impressive, if you were a Baltimore or Yankee fan.

Meanwhile, A-Rod had another two-homer game.

Baseball in September. Gotta love it.

[and I was a Parcells fan, so started following the Patriots when he joined up in ’93. Stuck with the Pats since… not a bad choice!]

  • That didn't take long.

Free Custom Ringtones in iTunes 7.4

Apparently the effort to update iToner is underway; it broke with iTunes 7.4.

The concept of paying a second time for music I’ve already purchased – especially if it was purchased to be played on the device upon which I am now expected to pay for again – doesn’t inspire me.

Is it because the labels have it in their contracts that ‘ringtones’ are a secondary use and Apple must charge, or is it just because Apple can?

    Update: iToner 1.0.1 works. Slick.

  • Namaste, Real Steve

    Totally unexpected.

As a customer, I’m impressed. I mean, it makes sense in many ways, will engender goodwill, and after all, you’re going to spend more than the $100 anyway.

As a shareholder, though… “Wait. You sold how many iPhones? Multiply that by $100?” &#060thud>

  • Namaste, Fake Steve

He’s right. It could be worse. I guess.

Okay, so you just bought an iPhone and now you’re pissed

It’s the curse of the early adapter, but usually it’s six months before I feel the sting. At least they didn’t obsolete it. Yet.

  • Entre nous

Been toying with this concept for a while, and figured now was a good as time as any.

    After all, why not?
