Slightly cooler than F-14 flybys, I’ll admit.
Great introduction here.
I used to be in the camp of “tequila == Cuervo == bad hangover”; thanks to a co-worker my ignorance has been corrected. I’m partial to Patrón Añejo for an evening drink (or the Macallan 12 year).
Chuck still can’t convince me Jägermeister is good, though.
I’ve been a coffee drinker happily using a Keurig brewer to sate my addiction.
However, I do miss drinking espresso and related beverages. I used to make espresso with a pump machine, purchased back in the days of the original onsale.com. (remember them?)
I recently resurrected one of the pump machines, but I’m apparently spoiled by the Keurig convenience.
However, then I ran across the Nespresso Lattissima. It’s relatively new, without many reviews, but it was tempting. Ergo, it became a present from my lovely wife.
Verdict: Excellent. While there’s a small undercurrent of resentment that the espresso pods can only be purchased directly from Nespresso (shipping fees are ~$7), the espresso shots are excellent, and the lattes are just as good. The convenience factor is at the top of the scale, as it is truly a one-button operation to brew either kind of beverage. Cleanup is trivial, including cleaning the frother – pushing the ‘clean’ button sends steam out of the frother to clean it, and the milk container can be placed back in the refrigerator for storage.
Makes a nice Kahlua and steamed milk, too..
