Jon Lester

At Fenway Park last night for Jon Lester’s no-hitter. He didn’t look great during the first three innings, but after that he seemed to just get stronger as the game went on.

Best seats I’ve had at Fenway – eight rows behind home plate. What a blast. I’ve never seen the park that full until the end of the game; good thing I scored parking on the westbound side of Beacon Street.

Also a good chance to play with the D300. Funny how most of my pictures actually have the Nikon sign in them!

Patriots back to the Super Bowl!

I wasn’t expecting this to be a repeat of game #2, and it wasn’t.

But 18-0 doesn’t mean anything unless you finish 19-0.

The Packers-Giants game was a classic. I wouldn’t have minded a Brady-Farve Super Bowl, but the Giants ground this one out and deserved it. Eli did a nice job quieting his critics, or at least making some progress on that front.

So we’re setting up for a rematch of the last game of the regular season.

The biggest problem I foresee: suffering through two weeks of hype.

How to torture people in Boston

  • Be at a bar/restaurant with multiple TV screens showing the Red Sox game
  • Watch on the only “low-def” television
  • Cheer 8 seconds ahead of everyone else watching the HD feed.
  • Profit!

Eventually the manager informed us it “wasn’t fair to the other customers”, and said he would turn off ‘our’ TV – but compensated us for it.

And the Sox crushed the Tribe. On to game 7!
